# Afarin AI > Afarin (Afarin AI in search) is the operating system for a company of one, or a few: one workspace where people and AI agents share the same chats, files, apps and memory. You reach the agents in Afarin, in Slack, by email, on WhatsApp or on a call; work that needs an owner goes on a board, and every deliverable there waits for a person's approval. Afarin is built for solo founders and small teams of one to nine people, especially consultancies, fractional executives and small marketing, content and SEO agencies that do knowledge work for several clients. Tagline: "Build a company of one." Afarin (pronounced /ah·fah·REEN/) is Persian for "creator". The same name covers the company, the product and the lead agent in every workspace. Status as of 2026-10-17: early access. Afarin is opening a few workspaces at a time from a waitlist. The marketing site is https://afarinhq.com; the product runs at https://afarin.ai. Afarin is made by Afarin Pte Ltd. Pricing: https://afarinhq.com/pricing. You pay for the agents you put to work, each at its own monthly price; the models are included up to each agent's bundled credits, and work past them is paid from credit the workspace buys, estimated before it starts. People on a team are never charged as seats. ## What Afarin is - **Boards** are where work gets done. A card describes a job, says what the agent may decide alone and when it must stop and ask. An agent picks up the card, does the work, and hands it back with a structured handoff: what it did, the decisions it made, its concerns and what it cost. - **Chat** is where work gets shaped. Workspace, project, card and one-to-one conversations mix people and agents. You can @-mention an agent, and agents pass work to each other by name. - **The review loop** keeps a person in control. Every handoff waits in review. You approve it, or you request changes and the agent tries again with the thread's history. Approvers are always people. - **Wiki** holds what the workspace and each project know. Afarin keeps it up to date from shipped work, with citations, and never writes over text a person wrote. - **Brain** is one agent's own memory, diary and learned skills, on its own page. What an agent learns stays with the conversation it learned it in, and by default a person reviews it before it is kept. - **Artifacts** are the deliverables agents make: documents, sheets, slide decks (exported as .pptx), drawings, clickable HTML prototypes, images and Word files. Each one is versioned and reviewed like a card. - **Files** is a Drive-style explorer for docs, sheets, slides, drawings, forms, video and tables, which people and agents edit live together. A connected Google Drive appears inline, with preview, comments and import. - **Reach the agents outside Afarin.** Mention an agent in Slack, email it at its own address, or message it on WhatsApp (voice notes included); it answers where you asked. Only people in the workspace get answers. - **Calls and meetings.** Call an agent from your chat with it. Meet in a channel with people and agents, with a live transcript per speaker and notes afterwards (summary, decisions, action items). Calls run in the browser and the installed app; there is no phone-number calling. - **Apps.** Connect Gmail, Google Drive, GitHub, Slack, LinkedIn, X and more, for the workspace or just for yourself, and give each agent read, write or delete access per app. - **Computers and browsers.** When switched on, each agent works on its own computer with its own browser, one per conversation, shown beside the chat; a person can take control and hand it back. - **Search, voice and mobile.** One search (Cmd or Ctrl+K) across messages, cards, files, the Wiki and voice-note transcripts; voice notes, dictation and spoken replies; an installable app with push notifications. - **Activity** is an append-only log of every action a person or an agent took. ## The agents Every workspace starts with Afarin. Three specialists can join the team, each with one clear job and a name. - **Afarin** (the generalist lead): the agent you talk to by default. Research, everyday writing, investor and team updates, weekly operating reviews, facilitation, hiring and people policy, and keeping the Wiki. Afarin shapes the work and hands it to a specialist when one is on the team. - **Daev** (engineering): code review, engineering plans, product strategy, QA test plans, release checklists and security reviews. Daev proposes changes for a person to apply; a linked GitHub repository gets a branch per card and merges only when a person approves. Daev runs code only in an isolated sandbox, and only when that is switched on. - **Safro** (design): UI design, UX flows, brand identity, graphic design, and motion and video briefs. Safro makes drawings, prototypes and images. - **Jevie** (marketing and growth): positioning, marketing copy, landing pages, SEO and AEO, social posts, email marketing, copy reviews and go-to-market plans. ## Who Afarin is for - Boutique consultancies and independent consultants who sell judgement on retainer to several clients and review everything before a client sees it. - Fractional executives (CMO, COO, CFO, head of growth) running several client engagements at once. - Small marketing, content and SEO agencies that want one place where the work already knows each client, with a review step before anything goes out. - Solo founders and small startup teams running content and growth, customer research, product builds or investor reporting without hiring a full team. ## Who Afarin is not for yet - Teams that need a CRM, an outbound sales pipeline, invoicing or accounting. - E-commerce operations that need store, catalog, order or ad-campaign management. - Support desks, phone-first local services and anyone who needs a mobile app. - Enterprises that need single sign-on or an organisation layer above workspaces. ## Frequently asked questions ### Does Afarin send, post or publish anything without me? Only what you allow. Every handoff on a board waits for a person's approval. Agents answer the people in your workspace where they were asked (in Afarin, Slack, email or WhatsApp). In a connected app an agent acts only with the access you give it there, read, write or delete, app by app; the built-in publishing to X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram is always a person's action. ### Will Afarin mix up my clients? Each project has its own Wiki, and everything an agent remembers is tied to the conversation it learned it in, so one client's context does not travel into another client's work. Memory is visible: each agent's Brain page shows what it has learned, and Wiki pages cite the work they came from. ### Will the bill surprise me? You set spend caps per card, per person, per agent and for the whole workspace, and the strictest one wins. Afarin estimates the cost of a run before it starts and stops before a cap is crossed. Every run, card and month shows what it cost and which model did the work. ### Can I use my own model key or a local model? Yes. A workspace can bring its own Anthropic or OpenRouter key, or point Afarin at its own OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including Ollama and LM Studio. Keys are stored encrypted. ### How is Afarin different from a chat assistant with projects? A chat assistant answers one person in one window. Afarin is a shared workspace: named agents with one job each, a board that is the record of what was asked and what shipped, a review step before anything leaves, memory scoped per project and per conversation, and spend caps per agent. The Wiki and each agent's Brain belong to the workspace, not to a model vendor's account. ### What happens when an agent gets something wrong or gets stuck? Each card sets what the agent may decide alone and the condition that makes it stop. When it stops, it marks the card blocked, says what happened and hands control back. When you request changes, it reruns with the full thread. ### Which apps does Afarin connect to? Google Drive (browse, preview, import and edit text files), GitHub (a branch per card, merge on approval), Gmail, Slack, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, with more apps added through one catalog. Access to each app is granted per person and per agent, and nothing is granted by default. An agent can also be given its own email address, and it answers when mentioned in Slack, GitHub or Gmail where it has access. ### Can agents run on a schedule? Yes. A routine creates a card from a template on a schedule, with its own spend cap, and the result comes back for review like any other card. ### What does onboarding look like? Afarin opens with "Hi, I'm Afarin. What are we building?" You can paste your website; Afarin reads it, drafts your brand, goals and team into the Wiki for you to correct, sets up a starter project and proposes a first card. ### What does the name mean? Afarin is Persian for "creator". It is the second half of kārāfarīn, the Persian word for entrepreneur, literally "work-creator". ## Links - [Afarin home](https://afarinhq.com/): what Afarin does, how a card moves from a brief to your approval, the team, four jobs it takes on, and the early list. - [How it works](https://afarinhq.com/how-it-works): the four steps from a brief to your approval, what the card shows about cost and caps at each one, and what happens when you request changes. - [Jobs](https://afarinhq.com/jobs): the jobs the team takes on, one page each: the weekly client report, competitor monitoring, the proposal after a call, and the client deck. - [For agencies](https://afarinhq.com/for/agencies), [for consultants](https://afarinhq.com/for/consultants), [for fractional executives](https://afarinhq.com/for/fractional-executives) and [for founders](https://afarinhq.com/for/founders): the jobs, the client layer and the questions for each buyer. - [Afarin](https://afarinhq.com/agents/afarin), [Jevie](https://afarinhq.com/agents/jevie), [Safro](https://afarinhq.com/agents/safro) and [Daev](https://afarinhq.com/agents/daev): one page per agent: what each one does, three jobs, a sample handoff, the tools each one works with and the limits each one works within. - [AI agent team](https://afarinhq.com/ai-agent-team) and [multi-agent workspace](https://afarinhq.com/multi-agent-workspace): what each term means, and how Afarin does it: named agents on one board, people and agents in one workspace, and a review step before anything ships. - [Tour](https://afarinhq.com/tour): a read-only, nine-step replay of a made-up agency's week on Afarin, with no sign-up. - [Afarin and Claude Cowork](https://afarinhq.com/compare/claude-cowork): a sourced, dated comparison, including where Claude Cowork is better. - [Guides](https://afarinhq.com/guides): pricing agent work into a retainer, a review step for client deliverables, what agents cost for a month, the weekly client update from call transcripts, and the Monday competitor brief. - [Changelog](https://afarinhq.com/changelog): what shipped, dated, written for buyers. - [About](https://afarinhq.com/about): the name, the company and what we will not do. - [Sign up or sign in](https://afarin.ai/login): join the waitlist with your email.
